HTML5, JQuery?

I get a lot of clients asking us what these technologies mean and how do they affect our business?

Having a site that is clean coded and has standards will give your website the legs it needs for going places on the web. HTML5 is the latest version of (Hyper-Text-Markup Language)..say that five times in a row. Why should you use HTML5? Well lots of reasons and I will highlight a few. You want your developer using your code most efficiently because Google will rank your pages content based on the quality of your code. HTML5 can alleviate a lot of headaches for your site. Another reason you want to go with HTML5 mostly is because lot of programming interfaces or APIS on the web can interact easier with this code. For instance, audio and video are not dependent anymore on third party software and plugins. You can publish these with HTML5 by itself which is huge because it saves you bandwidth per user and load time. We can publish our video whenever, wherever we want without depending on a plugin (i.e. Flash) for showing off our brand on the web. This is a big reason Flash was dropped by huge companies like Apple because the standards of the web are gravitating towards including these mediums (i.e. Video) in itself. Which lends me to the next topic..JQuery.

JQuery is a framework built on Javascript which gives you the ability to do fancy animations, AJAX, and all other sorts of professional looking effects that a lot of big brands use. The reason why JQuery is so popular because it can be used across a wide number of mobile platforms. When using these technologies, you not only are giving yourself a leg up on the web market, but as well on the mobile market. JQuery can give you a lot of your desired effects Flash used to give you without affecting the quality of your content

But still, how do these affect our business?

These technologies can give you the spectacular look you are looking for when presenting your story on the web. Having clean maintainable code goes a long way in ensuring your site’s content is reached by numerous users and search engines. On the web, you get one chance to impress your users, don’t want you want to keep them around with the best quality content? These technologies are a small, but critical part in building your “brand” on the cloud.
